Living Magikaly

A two hour introduction workshop into practical Druidry with Shane Gadd.

Shane has spent time with many teachers as well as being a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. Shane feels his greatest teacher has been spirit, and the land itself. Shane feels enriched by his many experiences and whilst books contain knowledge it is the getting out into and amongst the land. That has the greatest wisdom for us.

The aim of the course is to explore and foster a awareness that allows each individual to access their own unique vision and practice of Druidry. The work includes developing practical techniques , awareness of spirit and energy, how to create magikal circles the use of wands and staffs ; building sacred relationship with nature spirits and the other world, spirits of place, ancestors and deity; breaking down blocks and reclaiming lost energy , accessing inspiration and exploring the Awen, the Druidic life force and importantly ; creating effective ritual for the land ourselves and others.

Oakmoon Open Rituals and Moon Walks

At a Ancient spring deep within the Ashdown Forest.

Our aim is to facilitate rituals and gatherings of peace where a special relationship Between person and place can be experienced.

Our ancestors and ancient cultures around the planet have traditionally done this in circles of trees and stones.There is a tangible feeling of peace in these ancient sacred places.Our desire is to re-awaken the magik of these sacred circles and reconnect once again to the Heart of All. Oakmoon Grove offer open ritual gatherings. All are invited, no matter what tradition, to gather together at a Ancient spring deep in the Ashdown Forest to celebrate Full moonRitual, and rites of passage, and story telling and poetry and Bardic Magik to honour the spirit of the land and the old ways in way that is both practical and creates change in this modern age. ,So bring flowers of the season, story, song and musical instruments. All are welcome. All that we ask is that you come with an open mind, and an open heart. Afterwards we Retire to the local Pub.

Open rituals began on the Spring of 2006,the vision of Druids ,Shane Gadd and Corinna Michelle, to once again celebrate the traditions of the old ways in the sacred landscape of Sussex. In2007 Oakmoon Grove was born . On a cold and dark January night close to the new moon offerings were left and the blessings of the old ones was asked upon . With their blessings we begun to make pilgrimage at full moon to perform rituals , for the land ourselves and each other. The open rituals have been held every full moon , rain or shine, and it is this reliability and consistency that remains to be the key of its success.

The spirit of the Longman

It was a Cold yet profound day and once again as spirit moved we was inspired to visit and share the heartfelt rituals , warmly hosted by Dahm and Cerri Lee of The Anderida Grove, these Gorsedd open rituals began on the Spring Equinox 2000, the dream of Druids Dahm the Bard and Cerri Lee to revive the regular celebrations of the old Pagan festivals in the sacred landscape of Sussex.So as springEquinox 2008 approached we found our selves standing at the base of the Longman the Gentle giant, soaking up the wisdom of this mostamazing space . Dahm and Cerri Lee have such a warm way . Such a great space to celebrate the Sabbatts , as a Grove it was great to connect to the larger Druid Community . We had a great day from sipping barley cup and cakes in the Druid Bus , to mischief over a pint in the Giants rest inn, A truly inspiring day for all. one for me to be defiantly to be repeated .

Druid Network Camp

Fantastic camp , truly inspiring , This years camp was in honor of the Bard and the Bardic arts of our tradition . The camp was full of highly talented Bards from all over the Uk and Europe sharing their Skills and Magik , the air was full of story's , song , and harp . Many a fire was shared with a Bardic story teller, weaving tales of Gods and Goddesses and of the other world. The camp was full of workshops dedicated to the Bardic arts and a legendary Eisteddfod Bardic competition , 3 hours of song, story telling, and Music, the performances were to a high standard , the winner wove his Magik , sharing story's that he inherited form a genuine traveling story teller, In honor of his art he was awarded the spear of Lugh .Each day the camp was united in Ritual , very powerful and moving to really funny .

Some of the Highlights for me was the Ritual to Honor our own personal deity , for many years I have worked with The Morrigan , who has been a great teacher and guide ,to share ritual in this way was very moving ,silently in my own way I was able to Honor her and her teachings. A very powerful experience .Then there was the Magikal experience of a evening spent in the biglodge around the fire chanting and drumming with some of the most amazing talented people, chants honoring the land and life itself, attimes a emotional goose bump of a journey. Each night was full of musicians performing from Dahm the Bard, Seize the day , Sian James ,and many more.

The Camp catered well for children , a Magikal moment was seeing 2 year old Natasha walk into the one pole marquee and begin circle dancing with a group of adults. Each camp is fundamental different , a camp full of memories and experiences shared , experiences that heal and inspire, What really struck me By the Druid Scene and this camp , is the genuine sense of community and sharing , working together , Respect and no ego andheartfelt Respect for the community and the space we shared, not once did I sense conflict of disharmony , a real strong feeling of working together.
