Growing pains of Spirituality by Sheila Rose
Awakening from the lies we’ve been fed is exciting isn’t it? Realising the power of our consciousness, and our ability to attract what we want - instead of mindlessly accepting what we’ve been told. It brings up an enormous amount of possibilities for a life that is filled with joy. But how do we get there? How do we traverse the minefield of confusion, to find the Truth, and ultimately, our own freedom?
Yes, sometimes it might feel like a curse and not always a blessing to be awake. Awakening is the most liberating, alienating, excruciating, empowering, lonely, confusing, freeing, frightening, expansive journey. One that many people are now starting to discover, thanks to the pioneers who have carved a path against the grain.
However, you may find yourself struggling, as you try to process all this insanity. You are not alone. And there is no shame in going through the dark night of the soul, for it is when we are at our darkest moments that we are closest to the light.
Generally, when people talk about awakening, they fail to mention the grief that accompanies the entire process. Not only grieving the life and illusions you once had, but the realisation that almost everything you thought you once knew, (be it religion or some other system) is false.
It starts to dawn on you that the beliefs you’ve adopted, people you’ve trusted, principles you were taught, were lies that keep you trapped in an endless loop. Disillusionment is rarely an enjoyable experience. In some respects you may feel suddenly elated, as the light pierces through the confusion, but there is a considerable amount of discomfort too. The discomfort comes from the sudden growth and being forced to let go of things that were safe. And so you begin the stages of grieving.
Grieving for the children, knowing all too well the broken world they are inheriting. Grieving the loss of many relationships with people who just don’t “get it”. Many of those people who don’t get it will be family members such as parents and grandparents. They will remain trapped in their prisons, where they will be determined to stay. They will point their fingers at you and say you’re “the crazy one”.
These experiences will compound your feelings of loneliness and your need to find others who are going through this process, because you no longer have much in common with the rest. Suddenly all those shallow conversations will feel so fake! And you will wonder how on earth you could have played that game.
You will fight with the urge to shout out about what you know, because you will understand that the people around you are unlikely to be ready to receive such information. Thus deepening a feeling of disconnection from your entire support system - because they can’t see what you see.
Some will also grieve the loss of their ignorance- because “ignorance is bliss” and growing up can be harsh. It reminds me of the character in the matrix who says to Neo “why, oh why, didn’t I take the blue pill?” But deep down you know that once you take that “red pill” there really is no going back. You will have to master the art of diving down the darkest of rabbit holes only to come out and still function in daily life, and be able to talk to regular people without scaring them with your “crazy” ideas.

Breena My Spirit Guide - Explore Breena's Message
Awakening can be a lonely road and you will often find yourself journeying alone, but in Truth, you are never actually alone. There is an entire spiritual team around you, waiting for you to engage. All you have to do is reach out, and the love and comfort of the spiritual world is right there. Spirit guides, Guardian Angels, and Highly Evolved Beings patiently watch over us, sending positive energy and encouragement. We can participate more actively in these relationships. We can talk to them, ask them for signs, and find comfort in their presence. We can find the confidence of knowing that we are held.
And the more we communicate with our guides, the more they will point us to the situations, and people who will confirm and affirm our stories. We will grow and expand with like minded souls, reaching ever higher towards the light. And in the meantime we can demonstrate in the physical a lighter, more compassionate life. We will naturally start to care more for the entities that share our planet, whether that be animals, plants or insects. We will see the connection between us all, and be able to look past the mind and straight to the soul of every person. We will hold the Truth so brightly that words will not be needed. Our energy will glow differently, and we will embrace true authenticity.
If you have a beautiful relationship with your spirit guides, I commend you! If you would like to deepen your connection with them, contact me and we can begin this journey today. Sheila Rose
